Job Description:         Workshop Supervisor

Responsible to:            Chris Wadsworth (Depot Manager)        

                                    George Moore (Engineering Director)


Job Roles & Responsibilities:

We are looking an experienced Workshop Supervisor/Service Manager to join our team based from our Saltash Depot. The candidate will be responsible for the following day to day tasks;

-          Liaise with Office staff to supervise workshop loading

-          Assign jobs & tasks to relevant workshop technicians

-          Oversee all workshop jobs & projects

-          Liaise with customers to keep them up to date with progress reports and estimates if necessary

-          Ensuring all workshop jobs are completed in a timely manner & to the highest of standards

-          Prioritising workflow throughout the workshop & assigning jobs to technicians

-          Responsible for the day to day running of the workshop floor & make necessary changes to operations

-          Ensuring that all staff work in a safe manner & report any H&S problems to the H&S manager

-          Ensuring that all DAF & our own standards are followed at all times

-          Ensuring all workshop staff are working in an efficient manner

-          Working closely with customers to ensure that vehicles are completed as soon as possible

-          Managing warranty & surcharge part retention & passing the information on to the Warranty Administrator

-          Deploying, managing & assisting breakdown technicians on roadside breakdowns


The Candidate:

Experience within the DAF dealer network will be highly beneficial but not essential. A successful candidate will have the following skills;

-          Be able to give instructions in a constructive manner

-          Have good communication skills for dealing with customers & franchise representatives

-          Have sound computer skills and knowledge

-          Be able to adapt to various tasks within the workplace

-          Have a calm approach when under pressure & be able to deal with problems effectively

-          Have a good working attitude and be able to go beyond the call of duty if necessary

-          Be familiar with the technical aspects of commercial vehicles and  relay technical information to customers & suppliers.

-          Work well within a team environment
